There’s still time to complete your Census

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is reminding households that there is still time to complete the Census.

Emily Walter, Census national spokesperson, said: “We’d like to thank every household that has already completed their Census and remind everyone else that it’s not too late to participate.

“The Census is compulsory. In the coming weeks, households that have not completed the Census may receive a reminder letter or a visit from Census field staff.

“If you want to complete your Census now, you can do it online, with or without your letter, or contact us on 1800 181 227 if you’d prefer a paper form be sent to you.”

The ABS has a range of help and support options available for people who need assistance to complete their Census form.

To speak with someone in your preferred language, you can call the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS National) on 131 450 and ask to speak to the Census Contact Centre.

The data collected through the Census is used to plan and deliver vital services, help businesses grow, and support local communities.

Each person’s response contributes to building a snapshot of modern Australia, who we are and where we are going.

People should be careful whenever they’re providing personal details to anybody. If somebody knocks at your door claiming to be a Census Field Officer, ask to see their identification card.
