RE: Vietnamese Community Youth Marching Band
Dear Community Members,
The Executive Committee pleases to announce the establishment of the Vietnamese Community Youth Marching Band, the participating children will be taught music completely free of charge under the guidance of Mr. Neil Ta, an experienced musician who is willing to train young musical talents and raise awareness of Vietnamese culture. The Vietnamese Community Youth Band will parade or perform during festivals in Melbourne.
Objectives
- Cultural Preservation: To maintain and promote Vietnamese cultural heritage through music.
- Youth Engagement: To engage young people from Vietnamese backgrounds, helping them realize their potential through disciplined musical training.
- Community Building: To strengthen community bonds and foster a sense of identity and pride.
- Public Performances: To build self-confidence among members by performing at cultural and social events.
Purpose and Benefits. The marching band will:
- Train young individuals in musical instruments, promoting discipline and commitment.
- Perform at various cultural and social events such as festivals, ceremonies, and special occasions, enhancing the significance of these events.
- Benefit the entire community by instilling a sense of pride and cultural identity.
Children under the age of 18 is able to join the band. Our weekly practice sessions take place at the Vietnamese Community Office at 1/56 Nicholson St, Footscray 3011, at 2-3 p.m every Saturday.
