Neither body has been identified at this stage.

A Flemington man, who stumbled across the woman’s body, has been left shaken by the ordeal.

The man, who wanted to remain anonymous, said he had come to fish along the river bank when he noticed rubbish floating by his line.

Water Police could be seen hovering near the body of the woman lying across rocks on the river bank.

A blue bag appeared to be tied around her head and her legs wrapped in a blue plastic bag.

Police are investigating to determine whether the deaths are suspicious and whether there are any links between the pair.
