RE: Official operation of the Executive Committee

The official Handover ceremony between the two Executive Committees was successfully held between 1 and 4 pm on Sunday, October 30, 2022, in the presence of the Advisory and Supervisory Council, representatives of various Associations and Groups, and community members at the Đền Thờ Quốc Tổ, 90 Knight Avenue Sunshine North VIC 3020.

The New Executive Committee announced the appointment of Mr Dong Tran to officially assume the position of Vice President of Planning and Finance to replace Ms Trang Tieu who had resigned for personal reasons. Mr Dong Tran is known for his previous role as Head of Fundraising and other activities relating to boat people archives.

The New Executive Committee also presented its program for the next three years, especially the organising of the 2023 Vietnamese New Year Festival to commemorate the Trưng Sisters, the first Lady Kings in Vietnamese history.

An initial meeting between the Executive Committee and the Advisory and Monitoring Council to discuss a number of important and urgent issues was also held.

Beginning in November, members of the Executive Committee will be regularly available at the Community Office, 1/56 Nicholson Street, Footscray on Tuesdays and Thursdays to meet community members.

The Executive Committee would like to thank all attendees to the ceremony, marking a new phase in the life of the Vietnamese community of Victoria.
