How the Disability Gateway is helping families find the services they can trust.

Keeping the family secure and well cared for is top priority for many households. However, finding the right support for family members with disability can be overwhelming, especially when information is not clear or available in their preferred language.
The Disability Gateway is a free Australian Government service that helps people with disability, their families, and carers, find reliable information and support in one place, whether or not they have an NDIS plan.
Instead of searching across multiple websites, the Gateway provides a central place to find trusted services, information and resources in your language. It connects people to the right organisations and support options, helping them take the next step with greater confidence and less confusion.

Support is also available by phone, including access to interpreter services, so people can get help in their preferred language. The service provides information on areas such as employment, finances, housing, aids and equipment, and independent living.
The Disability Gateway is a secure platform designed to make this process easier. It provides clear and reliable information. This helps families find reliable support for their loved ones.
Respected community leader, and advocate Quang Nguyen understands the pressure placed on households.

“The Disability Gateway can make a real difference for families caring for someone with disability, as well as people with disability themselves, by helping them find trusted information and support when they need it,” Mr Nguyen said.
