AVWA: Aged and Disability Services Expo (ADS Expo)
The Aged and Disability Services Expo (ADS Expo) will be held on Monday 30 September 2024, at the St Albans Community Centre. This event is organised by the Australian Vietnamese Women’s Association (AVWA) to provide information about support services, and a networking space for the aged and disability community.
The program will run from 10.00am to 2.00pm, featuring a variety of activities, including guest speakers, entertainment, and a raffle draw. This event is not only an opportunity for participants to learn about available support services but also a place to meet and connect with others in similar situations, helping to reduce loneliness and build new relationships.
The expo will see participation from various service providers, offering healthcare services, tools, and other support services for seniors and people with disabilities, as well as other support programs from the government and the community. This is also an opportunity for these providers to introduce their services, helping attendees to gain more information and a better understanding of the services that suit their personal needs.
Additionally, the expo will offer tea, coffee, fruit, and light snacks. Attendees will also receive various gifts from AVWA and participating agencies.
This event is part of AVWA’s ongoing efforts to support the Vietnamese senior and disability community, helping them access essential services and improve their quality of life.
The organisations collaborating with AVWA in this expo include: Brimbank City Council, Palliative Care, Aidacare, Transgender Victoria, Fire Rescue Victoria/CFA, Cohealth, Rehab Hire and Sales, Merri Health, IPC Health, Services Australia, Dementia Australia, and LiverWELL.
