Footscray: Man stabbed to death outside pub in Melbourne’s inner west
Homicide Squad detectives are this morning continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Footscray yesterday evening, and at this early stage, believe those involved in the incident may be known to each other.
A man was located with serious injuries behind a licenced premises Courthouse Hotel on Nicholson Street, near Irving Street, about 7.45pm on Sunday 7/6.
Witnesses said there was a fight outside the licensed premises before the man was fatally stabbed, they said they saw at least one person wielding a weapon.
Emergency services worked on the man, who is yet to be formally identified, but he died at the scene.
The death is being treated as suspicious, and a crime scene is in place.
At this stage, investigators believe the man’s injuries were inflicted by a person known to him.
No arrests have been made at this stage.
