Bring Your Family and Friends

Join our Moon Lantern Festival at Abbots Yard and the Learning Bank on Victoria Street, from 2pm to 7pm.​ This is a free event.

This vibrant celebration is a wonderful opportunity for local children and families to experience the magic of the Vietnamese Mid-Autumn Festival —right in the heart of one of Melbourne’s most culturally rich streets.​

Why Come?

Bring your family, friends and neighbours along for an afternoon of food, entertainment, kids activities, local business showcases, giveaways and awards. There will be something for everyone to enjoy, including free family-friendly activities, local performances, trader stalls, learning sessions and customer voting for your favourite businesses.

Come early: Children make their own lanterns in the afternoon and carry them in the parade at 6:40pm.

To be in the parade: be here in time to make one.

Bring: A jacket, it gets cold after dark. Cash, some stalls are cash only. Red envelopes for the lion dance if you would like.

Getting here: Tram 109 along Victoria Street. North Richmond Station. Parking at The Hive and surrounding streets.

Also on: Youth activation at Lennox and Victoria Street, Richmond, about 1.2km away. Program and times to be confirmed.

On the day: Committee members wear blue vests. In an emergency tell one immediately or call 000.
