Thank you Australia 50 Years -Supporting Refugees with UNHCR

Public Announcement: Thank you Australia 50 Years -Supporting Refugees with UNHCR
Dear community leaders and members
The Vietnamese Community in Australia, originating from communist refugees who fled our homeland as boat people. These individuals from the Boat People generation who were supported and resettled by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Australia and other free nations.
Starting with nothing but their bare hands, these refugees built a vibrant community with Vietnamese language schools, cultural centres to preserve heritage, and, most notably, contributing significantly to the multicultural fabric of Australia, enabling the Australian government to continue welcoming subsequent waves of Vietnamese immigrants.
Today, there are still tens of millions of refugees worldwide, including those from Vietnam, still need support. Marking 50 years of resettlement and freedom, the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Community in Australia – Victoria Chapter invites you to join our fundraising campaign to express gratitude and share responsibility with the UNHCR.
