Chúc Mừng Năm Mới to the Vietnamese Australian community and everyone celebrating Tết.
This festival is all about families, friends and communities coming together – sharing gifts and good food, lighting lanterns and watching firecrackers, and looking forward to the year ahead.
It is also a profound and joyous reminder of the wonderful gift that Vietnamese Australians have given all of us with the choice you or an earlier generation made to make Australia your home. It is the gift of your hard work and aspiration, your loyalty to family and your love of our country.
As we welcome the Year of the Horse, I wish all Australians celebrating Tết much happiness, prosperity and success.
