Teen arrested after fire at Springvale Korean BBQ restaurant
A 15-year-old boy was taken to hospital under police guard after a fire at a Korean barbecue restaurant in Springvale early on Sunday, October 11. Police are investigating the blaze as suspicious —and are seeking another male believed to have been involved.

Protective Services Officers at Springvale Railway Station were told that two males had broken into the restaurant on Springvale Road, near Windsor Avenue —at about 12.15am.
Fire crews were called after black smoke was seen coming from the building’s upper floor. No one was inside at the time, and the pair were believed to have left in a car.

A short time later, emergency services received reports of a teenage boy with burns at a fast-food restaurant on Warrigal Road in Heatherton. The 15-year-old was arrested and taken to hospital.
ABC News reported that police found a jerry can near the Springvale restaurant and took it as evidence.

A crime scene was established and the investigation is continuing. ABC News reported the fire was the seventh consecutive day of arson attacks across Melbourne.
