Cultural Diversity Week 2025: Embrace the Journey, Shape Our Future


Grazeland, Spotswood, was transformed into a vibrant hub of culture, flavour, and entertainment last week, as multicultural champions, sports stars, celebrity chefs, musicians, television personalities, and community leaders gathered for a special preview of Cultural Diversity Week 2025.

Several distinguished guests joined Minister for Multicultural Affairs Ingrid Stitt MP, Minister Melissa Horne MP, and staff from the Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC) to help kick-start Victoria’s largest annual celebration of multiculturalism.

Held at Melbourne’s ‘playground for foodies,’ the event was a feast for the senses, featuring breathtaking cultural performances, dynamic live cooking demonstrations, and an exclusive first look at the lineup of events planned for Cultural Diversity Week 2025.

Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Ingrid Stitt MP reinforced the significance of the week in bringing Victorians together:

“The Victorian Government is pleased and proud to support Cultural Diversity Week, Victoria’s leading celebration of culture and community.”

Victorian Multicultural Commission Chairperson, Vivienne Nguyen AM highlighted the importance of embracing diversity and fostering connections:

“Cultural Diversity Week is more than just a celebration—it’s an opportunity to embrace diversity, foster connections, and showcase the traditions that make Victoria so unique.”

Other attendees also praised the event.

Actor/Comedian Diana Nguyen said: “The importance of diversity is about inclusion, about celebration and joy and is a necessity to be Australian.” and AFLW Player Bonnie Toogood added: “We get to taste all different types of foods, smell all yummy flavours— there’s a bit of culture in every little pocket of Melbourne.”

Victorian Multicultural Commission premieres new TVC

Adding to the excitement, the Victorian Multicultural Commission premiered its first- ever Cultural Diversity Week television commercial (TVC). The 30-second commercial showcases just some of the stories, traditions and communities that shape Victoria’s multicultural identity.

This year’s Cultural Diversity Week theme, Embrace the Journey, Shape our Future, was brought to life through music, food and storytelling, creating an unforgettable experience for all who attended. New TVC can be found here.

Introducing the Victorian Multicultural Festival

Cultural Diversity Week 2025 will culminate in the Victorian Multicultural Festival, a new three-day cultural extravaganza running from 21–23 March at Grazeland.

Visitors can expect:

  • Over 50 food vendors serving international cuisine
  • Live performances from diverse cultural groups
  • Family-friendly entertainment and interactive experiences
  • A welcoming space for all Victorians to connect, share and celebrate diversity

As one of Melbourne’s most celebrated food destinations, Grazeland will set the stage for this new signature event, bringing together music, food and culture in a vibrant and inclusive setting.
