Election Campaign Letter No.1 –Team Xây Dựng và Phát Triển Cộng Đồng
Dear Vietnamese community members,
CALL TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ELECTION
The Vietnamese Community in Victoria is an open organisation that brings together all Vietnamese-Australian citizens residing in Victoria, an organisation of those who uphold the 2024 Constitution and sincerely honour the yellow flag with three red stripes of the Republic of Vietnam.
We warmly invite all community members to take a little time on Sunday, 28 June 2026 to exercise your right to vote, and to help elect a worthy team to represent and serve our community for the 2026–2030 term.
THE STRENGTH OF OUR COMMUNITY
Looking back over the past three-plus years, what we treasure and take pride in most is the vibrant spirit of the Vietnamese Community in Victoria, a strong, diverse, and culturally rich community, shaped by the enduring contributions of our many organisations and fellow members:
- Religious organisations that nurture our spiritual and moral lives,
- Veterans’ associations that preserve the values and ideals of the Republic of Vietnam,
- Senior groups that pass on our culture and life experience,
- Women’s associations that strengthen families and community life,
- Vietnamese language schools that keep our language and culture alive,
- Youth organisations that carry forward our traditions,
- Political organisations that persistently advocate for a Free Vietnam,
- Mutual aid, social, sporting, cultural, and arts groups.
All beating as one, forming a strong collective, this is the foundation and soul of our community.
MORE THAN THREE YEARS OF SERVICE
In 2022, you placed your full trust in the Liên Danh Xây Dựng và Phát Triển Cộng Đồng. We have taken that trust as a solemn responsibility and have worked with all our hearts to be worthy of your expectations.
Our greatest achievement, one we are truly proud of, has been transforming our model of leadership: from a closed executive committee, we have built a transparent, open, and collaborative leadership team where every member works sincerely, wholeheartedly, and side by side with all associations for the collective advancement of our community.
We do not work for the community — we work with the community.
OUR COMMITMENTS FOR THE 2026–2030 TERM
On the occasion of this election, we express our deepest gratitude for the genuine cooperation and warm support of all community members. The direction and policies of the Liên Danh Xây Dựng và Phát Triển Cộng Đồng will remain unchanged, with community interests always our highest priority. If you continue to place your trust in us, we sincerely commit to the following:
- Transparent and democratic governance in accordance with the 2024 Constitution.
- Strengthening collaboration between associations, working together to build and develop our community.
- Preserving and promoting our national culture, performing arts, and artistic heritage.
- Strengthening and developing specialised subcommittees in service of the community.
- Expanding activities to serve seniors, youth, and newly settled Vietnamese Australians.
- Building community facilities and developing the next generation of leaders.
- Honouring the Yellow Flag, advancing the cause of freedom, and continuing to advocate for human rights, freedom, and democracy in Vietnam.
MEMBERS OF THE TEAM
To deliver on these commitments, the Liên Danh Xây Dựng và Phát Triển Cộng Đồng comprises the following five members:
- Mr Nguyễn Quang Duy, born 1959, incumbent Community President and Head of the Slate.
- Mr Trần Quang Thắng, born 1966, incumbent Vice President for Internal Affairs and Director of the Community Activity Centre, standing for Vice President for Internal Affairs.
- Ms Hoàng Hilary Lim (Lý), born 1984, incumbent Vice President for External Affairs, standing for Vice President for External Affairs.
- Mr Chương KyLe, born 1983, designer of the “50 Years of Settlement, 50 Years of Freedom” logo, standing for Secretary.
- Ms Nguyễn Kim Hương, born 1956, incumbent Treasurer, standing for re-election.
All subcommittees will also continue their work, subject to your endorsement.
CLOSING
Our community endures through the ideal of Freedom, holds together through the spirit of unity, and grows stronger through the collective effort and shared heart of all its members. The Liên Danh Xây Dựng và Phát Triển Cộng Đồng pledges to continue serving as a bridge connecting all associations, serving our fellow community members with wholehearted dedication — so that the Vietnamese Community in Victoria may forever stand as a beacon of light, worthy of the legacy of those who gave their lives for the two words: Tự Do — Freedom.
We sincerely ask for your vote on 28 June 2026 — a vote for the future, for our community, and for the everlasting ideals of the Republic of Vietnam.
