Backing Multicultural Business: Victoria Street Traders With New Victorian Government Support
The Victoria Street Business Association Inc (VSBA) is proud to announce a major boost for multicultural businesses along Victoria Street, supported by a grant from the Victorian Government.

This initiative aims to revitalise the precinct, enhance community connection, and support small businesses while tackling some of the area’s biggest challenges. The grant will fund a series of impactful projects designed to support traders and promote Victoria Street’s cultural vibrancy.
Key activities include:
- Marketing and Storytelling Videos: A video series to share the stories of local traders.
- Networking and Collaboration Events: Opportunities for traders to connect, share insights, and foster partnerships.
- Business Capability Workshops: A tailored program to strengthen trader knowledge and business performance.
- Cleaning and Greening Victoria Street: Initiatives to beautify the precinct and work with City of Yarra on public realm improvements.

The VSBA will engage with the traders and the community through social media and digital storytelling. Together, these initiatives aim to make Victoria Street safer, cleaner, and more welcoming for all. Victoria Street is home to a vibrant small business community, with more than one-third of traders coming from migrant backgrounds. This project will empower multicultural businesses to recover, grow, and continue contributing to the economic and cultural life in Yarra city.
Quote attributable to VSBA President, Ha Nguyen: “This support from the Victorian Government is a game-changer for our traders. It enables us to invest in the precinct, strengthen our business community, and showcase the unique stories that make Victoria Street so special”.
