Appointment of the VCA-VIC Constitution Amendment Committee.


PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

RE: Appointment of the VCA-VIC Constitution Amendment Committee.

The VCA-VIC is honoured to announce on 25th January 2024 the establishment of the VCA-VIC Constitution Amendment Committee.

The committee is commissioned by the VCA-VIC to provide a thorough revision of the current VCA-VIC Constitution with a view to bring the Constitution up to date with the current situation of the community, as well as looking forward with a vision on the development of the community in the next 10 to 20 years.

The VCA-VIC Constitution Amendment Committee consists of five members, as follows:

Head: Mr. Nguyễn Duy Nhạc.

Deputy Head: Ms. Marie Triệu.

Secretary: Mr. Trần Đức Dũng, Lawyer.

Member: Mr. Nguyễn Tân Hải, O.A.M, Lawyer.

Member: Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Thiện.

The Constitution Amendment Committee is fully independent of the Executive Committee and the Advisory and Prudential Council, making it clear that no one in the VCA-VIC is able to interfere in drafting amendments.

In contrast, its is empowered to propose ideas for the Executive Committee to support the Committee fulfill the tasks assigned by the VCA-VIC.

The Executive Committee shall provide every opportunity for the Amended Constitution draft to be widely consulted before making an Amendment General Meeting for the VCA-VIC members to vote.

The Constitution Amendment Committee was also entrusted with the task of drafting a provisional Charter on Operation of Vietnamese Community Centre for the Executive Committee to approve and disseminate to VCA-VIC members, transforming the Community Activity Centre into a living place for all members of the Vietnamese Community.

The Committee will formally introduce during the Annual General Meeting to be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Vietnamese Community Centre, 90 Knight Avenue North Sunshine 3020.
