$1.5 million in cannabis seized from factories in Melbourne’s east
Police have seized approximately $1.5 million worth of cannabis from an industrial area in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs as part of an ongoing investigation into commercial drug trafficking.

As part of their investigation, detectives from Croydon Divisional Response Unit (DRU) executed two search warrants at two factory sites in the Bayswater area on 12 June.
Upon entering the adjoining factories, detectives uncovered two large-scale hydroponic cannabis set-ups.
More than 1,300 cannabis plants were seized, weighing just over 1000 kilograms (a tonne).
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
